The world is becoming smaller and International integration is taking place on various levels. This is especially true for India which is fast adopting International practices and is moving evolutionarily towards implementing General Service Tax (GST), IFRS convergence and making similar progressive changes in India’s Direct Tax Code. To get a better understanding of International Taxation and India’s role and responsibility on the global platform is the goal of the conference.
The All India Federation of Tax Practitioners (AIFTP) in association with the Asia-Oceania Tax Consultants Association (AOTCA) is pleased to announce their first International Tax Conference in India. This is the first time in Indian tax history that AIFTP & AOTCA have come together to host the ‘AOTCA Mumbai Meeting 2009 International Tax Conference’ from 19-21 November, 2009 at the Trident, Mumbai. More than 50 International delegates representing the USA, Australia, Japan, China, Korea, Taiwan, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, Philippines and Mongolia will be attending this truly global event. The Conference will be inaugurated by Hon’ble Mr. Justice F.I. Rebello, Judge, Bombay High Court.
The Asia-Oceania Tax Consultants’ Association (AOTCA) is the first International body for tax professionals in the Asia-Oceania region. It functions with the objectives of promoting mutual understanding and co-operation among the organizations whose members include tax consultants in the Asia-Oceania region, to contribute to the expansion of the component members' businesses related to taxation and its related areas, and to promote friendship among the members.
The Conference will see a wide array of National and International speakers and hosting of panel discussions which will cover various aspects of issues that could affect, directly or indirectly, Tax Consultants in the foreseeable future. The conference will cover subjects referring to Doing Business in Australia, the India Advantage, Current Developments in International Tax vis-à-vis Doing Business in India, Transfer Pricing, VAT – Comparisons, Mergers & Amalgamations in USA and Mergers & Amalgamations – the Indian Perspective. Lending credence to the proceedings would be delegates of the Judiciary, Tax Officials and Government representatives.
The conference provides a unique opportunity to Indian tax professionals to have an interaction with well known tax professionals and heads of various professional organisations of the Asia-Oceania Tax Consultants Associations’ member countries. This Conference will provide the perfect opportunity to facilitate the exchange of knowledge and to developing interpersonal relationships on an International level.
The press conference of the AOTCA Mumbai Meeting 2009 will be chaired by Dr. K. Shivaram, Chairman AIFTP, Mr. Bharatji Agrawal, President, AIFTP and Mr. Gil Levy, President AOTCA.
